national safe motherhood day

This Year’s Theme Of National Safe Motherhood Day Is Very Important

National safe motherhood day is celebrated to mark the importance of maternal health in India, and it is celebrated every year with a new different theme. This year’s theme is a little more critical for the world.

The first National Safe Motherhood Day was observed on 11 April 2003. This day is celebrated every year to put more light on maternal health. The day was observed with a theme of “Safe Motherhood: A Woman’s Right.”

11 April is the birthday of Kasturba Gandhi (Mother of The Mahatma Gandhi), and it was declared National Safe Motherhood Day in India by the Government of India after the request received from WRAI (White Ribbon Alliance India), that is a group of 1800 organizations.

You may ask why it is important to celebrate National Safe Motherhood Day, but having a look at the history of stats, you will be shocked. According to UNICEF, around 6500 babies die every day in their first month of life. And every year, millions of newborns die like this throughout the world.

Love That Is Safe!

Be it National Safe Motherhood Day or Mother’s day, we all see beautiful quotes on the internet. Especially on mother’s day, the internet is full of beautiful mother’s day short quotes. Believe me, a mother’s love is more beautiful than these quotes.

People say a mother’s love is the purest form of love. But why so? Have you ever thought about it? What is that particular factor? That makes the relationship of a mother with her child more established and firm.

Safety is that factor.

Mother is always concerned about the safety of her child.

And a child always feels safe in the shelter of the mother.

It is all about safety, so we can say the mother-child love is one that most cares about safety.

Why This Year’s Theme?

This year’s theme conveys a message that safety at the physical health level is essential as well as at the emotional level. This year’s theme is, “Remain at home amid coronavirus, protect mother and infant safe from coronavirus.” So here comes the role of this year’s theme that talks about the safety of mother and child from coronavirus.

To be safe from such infectious diseases, one should take care of social distance, personal hygiene, and sanitization. Vaccination is also crucial, but do you remember when vaccination was not available?

What saved all of us at that time? It was the “safety” that kept us. Safety measures we followed during and after the pandemic have protected all of us from being infected. These measures include covering your face while sneezing, sanitizing your hands, taking care of personal hygiene, maintaining social distance in public places, etc.

Final Words…

The feeling of safety brings the joy of love, and for the lovable mother-child relationship, the health of both is essential. Ultimately, safety brings love, and love is what motherhood is all about. This year, make sure we all celebrate National Safe Motherhood Day excitedly and wish for the mothers and their children to be safe.
