5 Life Lessons To Learn From Rabindranath Tagore

Only five lessons from a Nobel Prize winner poet? You can learn thousands of lessons from such a great poet, but I’m here with the best five lessons that I love the most on this Rabindranath Tagore Jayanti.

The greatest poet in the history of India and Nobel prize winner Rabindranath Tagore was born on 7 May 1861 and passed away on 7 August 1941, leaving behind his great writings with powerful and influential messages. His writing is still being used in one way or another, and they motivate everyone in many ways.

From the National Anthem of India to great poems, the whole country is always motivated and feels proud of Rabindranath Tagore’s achievements. Today, I’m going to tell you the five lessons that I learned from Rabindranath Tagore. Also, I will let you know how these lessons changed my life after the practical implementation.

Lesson #1: Take Action

If you don’t take the first step, you will not reach the final destination. Here is a famous quote by Rabindranath Tagore:

“You can’t cross the sea merely by standing and staring at the water.”

It would help if you took action to achieve success. There are many hidden messages in this lesson. Stop overthinking and procrastination, overcome fear and take the first step towards your goal.

Lesson #2: Don’t Lose Hope

If you have hope, you have a chance to win in any situation. Winners are always saying, “Never lose hope.” Here is a famous saying by Rabindranath Tagore that motivates us never to lose hope:

“If I can’t make it through one door, I’ll go through another door- or I’ll make a door. Something terrific will come no matter how dark the present.”

If you fail in your first attempt, then try again. Keep trying, and one day, you will achieve your goal. Don’t lose hope if you don’t make it on “Day One”; you will definitely make it “One Day.”

Lesson #3: Be Fearless

What stops you from doing something new? What stops you from achieving success? It is always the fear that you have in your mind. Rabindranath Tagore has a few lines to motivate you in such situations to become a fearless person:

“Let me not pray to be sheltered from dangers,

but to be fearless in facing them.

Let me not beg for the stilling of my pain, but

for the heart to conquer it.”

Face the fear, Do what scares you most. Never worry about the outcome; do it. Make yourself strong enough to go through the fear and overcome it.

Lesson #4: Flip Your Thoughts

Sometimes having a flipped vision solves the problem. The way we see life, concerns, and ourselves is always very important. If you are stuck somewhere in your life, flip your thoughts, and find a drastic change. Here is one of the famous quotes by Rabindranath Tagore.

“We read the world wrong and say that it deceives us.”

It is not only about the world, but all the life problems. We see the issues in the wrong way. Problems are always there, and they will disturb you; it is just you who can get rid of all of these problems.

Lesson #5: Don’t Stick To Sorrow

Sorrow and happiness are part of life. If you are stuck on sorrow, then the chances are that you will miss the happiness that is waiting ahead for you. You have to forget the past incidents. Sharing one of the famous quotes by Rabindranath Tagore, believing that it would be helpful:

“If you cry because the sun has gone out of your life, your tears will prevent you from seeing the stars.”

If you lost something, stop crying because there must be something better waiting for you ahead. Just relax and move on.

Stay Positive, Stay Motivated!

It would help if you were positive all the time in your life to touch new heights. The books of Rabindranath Tagore might help you a lot in this. I have learned a lot from the Rabindranath Tagore books, such as Gitanjali. Rabindranath Tagore poems are also a good source of motivation and positivity. Let’s pledge on this Rabindranath Tagore Jayanti to implement these lessons practically in your life.
