It’s a Wrap!
Yes, we’d be gracefully wrapping up the International Infection Prevention Week (IIPW) with this blog. While trying to cover the basics and the significants in most of our blogs this week, it is quite possible we might have missed a few things as well.
In a nutshell, all we want is for you to stay safe and choose your options cautiously.
We really thought hard about what should our team cover today – what would be the most appropriate way to mark the end of IIPW? Any guesses?
Indeed it is the awaited and controversial India Vs. Pakistan T20 World Cup Match on 24th October 2021.
Contentious as it reflects on the regretful killings of the non-Kashmiri civilians in the Kashmir valley and arouses the ‘genuine’ anger. However, as conveyed by the BCCI Vice President Rajeev Shukla, it won’t be acceptable to back out from an ‘international commitment,’ hence the match would feature as planned.
Anticipated, as, needless to say – India Pakistan match has always been on the lookout by the Indians!!
Nevertheless, be it the Dubai International Cricket Stadium or any other arena, once the spectators are allowed, the place is expected to be full (rather overpopulated). Hence, abiding by some all of the infection prevention norms is a must to keep yourself safe and your enjoyment long-lasting.
Let’s quickly consider the Do’s and Don’ts in this case.
Well, I would have started with limiting the number of ‘allowed’ audience – however, at this point in time, it seems to be a waste of time mentioning it, as neither the organizers nor the attendees would pay any heed to it. Still, going to packed places even if fully vaccinated cannot be tagged as #safe.
Anyway, coming to what can and should be done at the stadium by
THE STADIUM OWNERS & STAFF
- Detailed cleaning of the entire place, including each and every chair, the poles or bars around, sites for standing vendors, seating arrangement for the commentary team, washrooms, and frankly everything.
- Fogging of the stadium with an effective disinfectant.
- Provisioning hand sanitizer facility through foot dispensers at an ample number of points throughout the stadium.
- Ensuring a good number of staff is positioned across the place to help the audience with the placing arrangements and other things.
- Providing a hygienic place and set up for the vendors.
- Training all the employees and contractors involved on the appropriate norms and behaviors.
- Placing around 4-5 standees across the arena stating the requisite mannerisms and cautions to be followed while in the stadium (would be good to illustrate both through text and images).
THE AUDIENCE
- Ensure your masks are on for the entire duration.
- Carry a hand sanitizer along and use it frequently.
- Try to maintain at least some distance with others (as feasible).
- Carry along your medications, inhalers, nebulizers if you suffer from any such condition.
- Bring along your own water bottles and also, if possible, some food of your own to nibble while cherishing the happenings of the match.
- Always cover your mouth while coughing or sneezing.
- Pack tissues or little handkerchiefs in your handbag.
