6 Things Wrong With The Way You Clean Your Home

When it comes to keeping the house clean, there are numerous items on our to-do list.

I realized it when I moved to a new city (to join my first job) and started living away from my family.

Living in a studio apartment (Thanks to my low budget 😅) made me realize how I took my mother’s efforts for granted when I was at home because home cleaning had never been a part of my lifestyle.

My college routine consisted of getting out of a jumbled bed in the morning and getting into a properly made bed at night (Mother’s magic 😇 🪄), but I never paid attention to what happened in between.

Now, after more than five years, I do everything on my own, from making my bed to cleaning the house, so here are six things you’re probably not aware of when it comes to cleaning your home.

1. The Wrong Weapon

You can’t win a battle unless you have the right weapon. Here your weapon is the right cleaning and disinfecting product that you use for home cleaning.

Some households use laundry detergent everywhere, while others spend a lot of money on a variety of products, so what is the best approach?

Buy a genuine cleaning product as well as a multipurpose disinfectant and surface cleaner to kill germs and viruses on multiple surfaces.  You will be killing germs and viruses with a single product just like Bahubali did with his signature weapon to kill all of his enemies in the movie.

2. Overlooked Spots

No matter how thoroughly you clean your home, I’m sure there are some areas that are overlooked, such as the area where a commode’s bowl connects to the base, underneath a washbasin, and so on.

Identify areas, where the air recirculates and forms dead zones. Clean all these spots in your house sanitizing and disinfecting process.

3. The One-Sided Love

Are you in love with the synthetic scents that come from cleaning products? Sorry to say, but it is one-sided because these synthetic fragrances don’t love you and harm your health by being toxic. Many organic, fresh-smelling home tips are available to help you break up from this one-sided love.

4. The Environment Enemy

Your cleaning products or disinfectants containing harmful compounds such as alcohol, butane, bleach, etc., can make your environment hazardous. You may believe they are only environmental enemies, but they can indirectly cause the deadliest of diseases, so stay away from them.

5. Using Dirty Tools

No matter if it is a rag you use for dusting or a wipe, if it is not clean, then it is futile to clean the surfaces and other things as it will only make things dirtier. When I say tools, I’m referring to anything you use to clean your house. Keep them clean and disinfect them if necessary before using them.

6. Not Following The Right Order

Ever fallen into the trap of making the bed first and then dusting your ceiling fan? It’s so disturbing when you see dust particles falling on your recently cleaned bed, so what went wrong? Yes, the cleaning order is incorrect. You need to follow the right order so that you can conveniently, effectively, and quickly clean your home.

Takeaway…

These six errors were causing major disruptions in my home cleaning routine, and it took me a long time to figure out what they were. Now they are no longer a problem for me and my home cleaning routine.

Fixing all these mistakes helped me choose the best way to clean a house. What is your progress towards making home cleaning more sorted? Share it with us!
