21st Century Ravana
A very happy, energetic, lively, vibrant, mischievous, joyful, peaceful, and divine Dussehra to all our readers!
Victory of good over evil – be it in the form of Goddess Durga defeating Mahishasura, Lord Rama conquering Ravana, triumph of Pandavas over Kuru Sena, or we overcoming our limitations.
Something we understand with life experiences, different from textbook knowledge, is that most of the things we tag as evil or bad are not actually so, but just our weaknesses we need to accept and manage and change with time. For instance, if lying is a sin, then I’d be the biggest sinner on earth ☺. Likewise, being jealous, lazy, stubborn, negative, impatient, greedy, bossy, dominating, shy, fearful, selfish, rude, critic, aggressive, angry, competitive, unempathetic, etc., are not all sins, but emotions that need to be worked upon. The expressions or reactions of these emotions could lead to disastrous or harmful impacts, thus creating ineffable wedges. Ergo, let’s pick our one ‘negative’ trait (something we strongly believe should be changed) today and start working on it!
In India, the festival is celebrated with great pomp and show in various states. However, the atypical way in which the city Mysore celebrates it is something worth seeing. The grand Mysore Palace looks grander with the exotic and detailed lighting arrangement.
A break from the usual, our President Ram Nath Kovind would be celebrating this festival with the brave Indian jawans at Drass, Ladakh. A very righteous change and I would not hesitate in calling it an ‘ideal’ way to observe this event. It is our jawans who protect the entire nation from outside evils!
Present Day Ravana
Besides the evils and wrongs that have presently gripped the world, there are endless deadly pathogens that hover around us constantly. It would not be wrong to term them as the ‘21st century Ravana,’ as they directly pose a threat to our health. And one thing that is established as a fact is that a sick and unhealthy person cannot fight against any evil – what to expect from one who cannot even defend their body!
Use every teer in your kaman to fight this Ravana and protect your body.
