{"id":2868,"date":"2021-08-23T04:18:36","date_gmt":"2021-08-23T04:18:36","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.sterloc.com\/blog\/?p=2868"},"modified":"2022-06-14T05:30:42","modified_gmt":"2022-06-14T05:30:42","slug":"choice-paralysis","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.sterloc.com\/blog\/choice-paralysis\/","title":{"rendered":"Choice Paralysis!"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Ever boggled by such thoughts?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:5px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n<ul>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">Had I been a rich person, I would have been on more trips, and at least dared to think about an international trip!!<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">Had I lived alone, I would have lived an awesome life with no <em>nok<\/em>&#8211;<em>jhok<\/em> (altercations)?!?!&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n<div style=\"height:5px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">I\u2019ve been.. <em>n<\/em> number of times! But the truth is I would have been nothing but a let loose wild animal if all this had been true. These limitations or constraints discipline our lives.<\/p>\n\n\n<div style=\"height:5px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">I am blessed to be living with my family. At least this brings responsibility to my life. They give me a routine \u2013 I can guarantee I wouldn\u2019t have even bathed in days had it not been for my family! Good that I have a limited pocket that pokes me every time I am going out of bounds. It induces in me a sense of valuing anyone\u2019s hard-earned money and setting straight my priorities, though I am pretty sure many of my friends might feel that I\u2019m a <em>chindi<\/em>&nbsp; (stingy)\u263a.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n<div style=\"height:5px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">These restraints or regulations have an added advantage. Whenever we go off track once in a while, we joyously cherish those moments. After all, we honestly understand the worth of such moments. We definitely wouldn\u2019t have if everything were freely available to us on a plate. There is a unique pleasure in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sterloc.com\/blog\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">disciplined freedom<\/a>!&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n<div style=\"height:5px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"padding-left:17px\"><em>\u201cThe more constraints one imposes, the more one frees one\u2019s self,\u201d <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Igor_Stravinsky\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Igor Stravinsky<\/a>.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:5px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>More to the point, having limitless options could be dangerous. It might drive you crazy.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:5px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"padding-left:17px\"><em>\u201cLearning to choose is hard. Learning to choose well is harder. And learning to choose well in a world of unlimited possibilities is harder still, perhaps too hard,\u201d <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/rustybrick?ref_src=twsrc%5Egoogle%7Ctwcamp%5Eserp%7Ctwgr%5Eauthor\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Barry Schwartz<\/a>.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:5px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">I\u2019ve now started experiencing it in my daily life. As a content writer, I have the entire universe to choose my topics from. The initial feeling is surely a \u201cWOW\u201d one, but eventually, it turns to me staring at a wall for hours! Though sometimes it is good and leads to deep thinking in getting to a relevant subject, most of the time, it is frustrating and seems like a waste of time. However, the days I know what I need to write about, my thoughts, search, and pen all go in the same direction delivering quick (may not be perfect) results. From now, I need to put a constraint on my choices and the time allotted to each.<\/p>\n\n\n<div style=\"height:5px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Be it as it may, the \u2018going wild\u2019 idea will overwhelm us every now and then. And it\u2019s not wrong to feed such feelings whenever and in whatever way we can. Going for a change of routine for a few days is one of the best options!<\/p>\n\n\n<div style=\"height:5px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Let\u2019s do that and come back to our spaces rejuvenated!
