It\u2019s coronavirus \u2013 it has been impacting all of us in some capacity. The enemy is coronavirus, the war started in 2019 as COVID-19, and we all have been fighting it since using our great arsenal of weapons.<\/p>\n\n\n<div style=\"height:5px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Some days we won, others we lost to it, and the battle continues&#8230;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><br>What were our most effective weapons?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>Wearing masks<\/li><li>Staying at home<\/li><li>Maintaining physical distancing<\/li><li>Consuming healthy food<\/li><li>Using disinfectants and sanitizers<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><br>We\u2019ll focus on the last part today.<\/p>\n\n\n<h5 style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong data-rich-text-format-boundary=\"true\">Use of disinfectants and sanitizers<\/strong><\/h5>\n<h5>\u00a0<\/h5>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The common fear of catching infection prevailed amongst us all due to the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ilo.org\/global\/topics\/coronavirus\/lang--en\/index.htm\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">COVID-19 crisis<\/a>. The use of hand sanitizers and disinfectants for our homes and offices became a part of our routine. These products topped the list of grocery items, and surprisingly the \u2018sanitizer\u2019 section of outlets became \u2018out of stock\u2019 in many instances. This is the love we have for the health of our loved ones and us!<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><br data-rich-text-line-break=\"true\" \/>However, as it is rightly said, excess of anything is bad. So is the use of disinfectants and sanitizers. These are chemical-based products and are likely to have adverse effects on our body. People also started an extensive use of bleach spray as a protection mechanism from COVID-19. We all know that bleach is a dangerous chemical.<\/p>\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.makatimed.net.ph\/news-and-exhibits\/news\/harmful-side-effects-of-hand-sanitizers-and-other-disinfectants\">Some of the harmful impacts of chemical-based sanitizers or disinfectants<\/a> that can be observed are:<\/p>\n\n\n<ul>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">Impacts your skin: you may face skin irritation, dry skin, skin allergies, and other common skin problems like acne and contact dermatitis.<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">Eye problems: direct exposure can cause irritation and redness in your eyes.<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">Cough and breathing problems: excess use of disinfectants might result in inhaling of chemicals.
